I am sad to give such a low star review, but there are several things I didn't like about this product. 1. how it was cut. there were defects (not big) noticeable to me. 2. I didn't like the flimsy plastic lid. it did not fit snug when I put the pieces back up, it just falls right back out. 3. this is more of a personal dislike, but my kids just couldn't, or wouldn't, get into using these pieces but that may change as they get older.

I've purchased just about every toy they make, these are the most disappointing. Cool idea, bad execution, wood chips falling off and caused splinters.

Was a gift for my child's 2nd birthday. He absolutely loves them and so did I. Then the wood started breaking off. I love Melissa and doug products but this one is not a keeper.

Took a chance on this puzzle, even after reading negative reviews of the wood shedding tiny splinters, etc. It really is not up to Melissa and Doug standards. Yes, the wood did chip off into tiny splinters for the first few times we played with it, but I carefully cleaned up all of the tiny splinters and it stopped. While we have had a lot of fun with this puzzle and do enjoy it... it is now falling apart after six months of very gentle play, with parents storing it on the top shelf in a closet when not in use. The pictures are a paper that is glued onto the wood, and the paper is peeling up on some pieces, and the color is rubbing off most of the number pieces, leaving white faded marks. (I attached photos.) Again, nice idea, but the quality stinks. My toddler is distracted by the pieces that have peeling edges, which takes away from the fun.

I normally love their products. However, this one is a miss. Besides the fact that I received two 5's and no 14, the product just seems flimsy and doesn't make sense. All of the pieces are interchangeable (you can click a 2 side onto a 5 pineapples side), so it doesn't really teach a small child what goes where without counting (which is fine, but nothing my small child can do on her own).

Great concept as it is hard to find number matching up to 20 but when I opened it there was a really strong smell. I let it air out but that hasn't helped much. When my daughter uses it her hands end up smelling. Not sure what they used but I'm a bit concerned it's toxic. It smells like it is anyways. I probably won't let her use it much.
