Purchased for 5.5 yr old. The pen tips are too narrow for coloring activities. Example: it took so long to fill in the skirt of the dress with the fine tip, my Gd quit and the pen was running out of color.Too many worthless small magnetic pieces....more is not always better.

I bought this for my 5 year old nephew, who loves dinosaurs. He absolutely loved this! He liked that he could create seems with all of the magnets. And that he could learn to draw dinosaurs. This is a very nice set, in a durable case for the money.

My two a a half year old grandson loves this “book”. Lots of play/learning value for the price.Melissa and Doug is one of the few manufactures that I trust implicitly when searching items for my grandchildren. Their business offices were just down the road from where I used to live in CT. I was told by the specialty toy store I frequented that MD have all their products tested when they arrive in the states to verify that they were made to US standards. I feel very safe purchasing any of their toys and I appreciate the design research that goes into their products. The toys stand up to heavy use and the play value is always spot on.BTW - the kitchen toys are awesome and much better than the copy cats.
