My 2.5yo loves the Melissa and Doug 48-piece puzzles. While the Dinosaur Puzzle is her favorite, the Underwater Puzzle has brilliant colors and depicts many types of marine life. While she does not have the ability to complete the puzzle on her own, it does allow for development of problem solving skills and hand-eye coordination as well as discussions about fish and marine mammals.

Great quality for a floor puzzle. My 2 year old struggles with some of the areas because several of the fish look the same and the colors aren't as distinct from piece to piece. I have no doubt he will pick it up within a few weeks. I suggest this puzzle for a 2 1/2 year old or up.
