They're okay I think I prefer the plastic ones too the wooden ones.Be careful where you place them- my 10 month old managed to fit the "three" sideways in his mouth. They are too large to swallow whole, and they are too durable for him to break- but I did move all the "ones/1" up really high because I was afraid he may be able to swallow those at the right angle. I would wait until your kid is past the putting everything in his mouth stage to let them play with them.they're more for playing and don't hold things up really well- pictures, cards, groceries lists, small paper they all fall when I try to use these magenta for that. They're more for playing and learning than functional magnets.Bright colors, fun, and we will probably eventually use them to help him with counting but right now they're just kind of hanging out really high up on the fridge.

(I bought both the numbers and letters set) and neither hold up to the wear-and-tear young toddlers will put them through such as biting and dropping into the dogs water bowl. They're nice when they're new though and are in a nice, reusable box.

My 2 1/2 year old granddaughter loves the Melissa Doug magnets. When she was very young, I bought the animal set and put them on my refrigerator. They helped her learn her animals and animal sounds. She has played with them so much, that I purchased these additional sets as a Christmas gift.

15 month old Grandson loves to put these on and off the fridge, learning as i and his parents say what each animal is, do the animals sound, say the alphabet and count with the numbers! The only thing to watch for :), is the fridge is by the shoe rack for outdoors shoes, got to check your shoes before putting your foot in! Seriously, these are quality magnets in everyway!

I bought this for my granddaughter who is 2. They didn’t stick well to the refrigerator and I didn’t really like them. The plastic Fusher Price ones from years ago were much more durable stuck better.

Pros: Nice size magnet numbers for a toddler. Made out of wood.Cons: poorly made , after 3 days of playing paint is coming out already. Not sure if paint is safe to put in mouth. Made in China. Magnet is too weak so it doesn’t hold on well on all metal (“magnitable”) surfaces.

Kudos to Melissa Doug for helping our son become a genius mathematician. I'll make sure he mentions you while toasting his future doctorate in mathology...or whatever it's called.
