My one year old loves these! She is just starting to understand how to use them properly. The Moroccans are her favorite part of the entire bundle! It is for ages 3 and up but the only piece I had to put up from her was the metal rod used with the triangle. I was afraid she would fall with it while it was in her mouth. I do supervise her while she plays with these as well. I would not give them to a younger child and leave them unattended with them.

This was a bit of a disappointment. I love Melissa and Doug toys but this was not my favorite. The pant is messed up on the instruments and they don't play as well as I would have liked.

Nice set. I bought it for my 1 year old and she loves it (especially the maracas). It's labeled for 3 years and up but the only item I had to take away for now was the triangle as the metal stick used to play it could do some harm because of how thin and heavy the rod is (could easily hurt the throat or poke the eye etc.). For the most part though, the instruments are perfectly fine for younger children, too.

Half decent quality. . My kid bangs everything on the ground so expect to confiscate a few item right off the bat

Very cute. I love MD, and love that it comes with a wooden tray, which we use to store everything. My almost 2 year old loves making 34;music34; with them!

great set! Well made and good variety. I gave it too my 5 month old as something he could prolly with only if we were sitting right there watching. He has loved it since day 1! He enjoys holding, shaking, and banging each item to explore their sounds. When not playing with it, we keep it up out of reach but visible. He's almost 8 months old and at some point every day he crawls over and reaches for it. We did put the metal stick for the triangle away for now as it's quite long and skinny and too good for sticking in his mouth. I would highly recommend not to let babies play with it unsupervised as the handles fit easily in the mouth so if a baby were to roll or topple over could jam it inside their mouths and hurt for sure.

This was the best of the three sets of instruments that i purchased. Nice quality instruments. Not small like the others I purchased. They were a hit at my son's first birthday Jam Session. The kids loved them!
