Haven't used enough to comment on battery life, but it does the job for minor household uses. Lightweight and easy to hold. Good value

I have now completed several small projects using the drill. It has been able to get the job done including screwing long screws into wood that has pilot holes. Almost a 5 star, I thought the power might be a bit too low if I tried to use this in construction, but for the price it is a very good drill for projects around the house. I purchased extra batteries to give me longer life with the drill, if I need to tackle bigger projects. I have not tried to use any larger (hole saw) or longer bits, so not sure how well the motor will hold up with that. Overall satisfied with the purchase.

With the name Black Decker behind a product, you can expect top quality. Such is the case with this drill. The only downside, I expected it to have a storage box. I've owned lesser quality drills that came with one, but this one didn't.

I didn't have much experience with drills, and ended up being misled by the product description and reviews into thinking I could use the drill bits provided to drill into metal. The drill bits this comes with are brad point drill bits, which are not multi-purpose: These are intended specifically for wood. They have a point on the end that prevents drilling into hard material - it will just spin in place without getting anywhere. You technically can manage with these bits, but it takes a long time and is likely unnecessarily dangerous. This is what I did, and how I know it manages metal just fine: I ended up accidentally breaking off the tip of one of my bits, and it drilled through metal pretty easily at that point.I initially thought that the product description was misleading, but taking another look, it just says that the drill can be used to drill metal (which is true), not that it includes the hardware necessary for it. However, a response from STANLEY BLACKDECKER in the QA explicitly says that it includes bits for metal, which is untrue. I would be willing to believe that's out of ignorance of the product specifics, rather than malice though.Either way, judging by reviews and QA answers, this is definitely a big point of confusion which could have easily been cleared up in either the item description or manual, but wasn't. This seems like a bad decision for both customers and the manufacturer, since they got a lot of negative reviews from people thinking the drill is too weak to drill through metal. I'd deduct at least one star from that.Apart from that, it's worked well for me. The battery life seems pretty impressive - I had it sitting unused for years, and the battery still had a charge when I used it. However, initially after that wait I started seeing sparks from inside the vent. The manual says to use compressed air to clean it out regularly, and it had probably accumulated a lot of dust inside, so I'll take the blame for that. It no longer happened after cleaning it out.

I'd have preferred if it came with a case to put the bits in but it's fine...I'll make one. It's lightweight, and though I got it for my husband, my daughter is in love with it.

The product itself is awesome, easy to use and recharge. I just believe it should come in a case.

Would recommend for smaller household jobs and just day to day needs...for bigger jobs the unit starts to overheat and the battery starts to drain quickly. I've had one of these for years and its great, but when I have a big job I am going to get something more powerful.

I know it would be extra, but magnetic tips are a big time saver. Otherwise, great product for the price

The drill is great I charged it once and have been using it continuously. I do think there should be some sort of storage bag included for the drill bits, even if it was a very cheap small bag just for the bits. I find my self leaving them in my junk drawer since there not way to store it properly. Overall good drill. Especially for the price.

Handled my projects well.

This drill is great. It was a huge help when putting up wire shelving in my laundry room. First time I used it - easy to change out the drill bits - not too heavy, but durable. My only complaint is I wish it had a carrying case of some sort.
