Mission: The mission of mid coast hunger prevention program is to provide hungry people with access to healthy food, work to improve the quality of their lives by parnering with others, and serve them in a manner that recognizes their dignity.

Programs: Food pantry/food bank - provides food assistance to households in our catchment area that are at or below 150% of the federal povertyguidelines. Over 22,000 people were served 155,000 meals worth of food from july 2016 through june 2017.

soup kitchen - provides a free, balanced lunch mon - sat to persons at risk of hunger in midcoast maine. Over 40,000 meals were served from july 2016 through june 2017.

backpack program: provides food to children who are suffering the effects of chronic hunger. Two models are utilized. One provides easy to prepare meals for children to take home on friday and utilize over the weekend. The other provides snacks during the school week. More than 400 students were served during the 2016-2017 school year.
