Target demographics: Abused, neglected and "at risk" animals both large and small.

Geographic areas served: Marshall, Viriginia

Programs: Animal rescue, care and adoption - the foundation cared for 424 animals and adopted out 325 animals during the year. Many of these animals came from poor conditions and required medical treatment from neglect and abuse they endured.

public awareness and educational programs - the foundation participated in an average of 2-3 local events each month, setting up booths to distribute information and to showcase animals available for adoption. Educational programs were held at the shelter facility for school and community youth organzations to learn about responsible and humane animal care. Monthly newsletters were published and distributed via email, social media and website to keep the community informed about annual welfare issues and activities. Obedience classes were held in the spring and fall for both shelter dogs and adopted dogs and their guardians. The chained dog program provided pet food and other supplies such as collars, dog houses and bedding to domestic animals belonging to low income families.

spay, neuter and emergency medical program - the foundation paid for the spay and neuter of 407 cats, dogs and rabbits. Emergency medical funds were provided for animals owned by low income families in the community.

the community cat program provided trap/neuter/return services for 152 cats (30 colonies) covering 6 counties. These cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutrered, vaccinated, dewormed and then provided with post-operative care for 3-5 days until finally released back to the enviornmnet where they are being fed.
