Mission: The Vision of the MiraCosta College Foundation is to ensure that no one is denied access to education because of financial need and that resources are available to enrich the college experience for all students. In service to that vision, our mission is to promote the interests and the welfare of the college and secure resources that will transform student lives.
Results: Our donors make a significant impact. During the 2016-17 academic year donor contributions to the foundation reached 1.4 million to benefit our students. Financial support provided to the college from the Foundation (scholarships, direct student aid, programs, etc. ) was $480,981, and to campus programs $1,011,074.Over 2,300 students who might otherwise have been unable to persist and succeed received direct assistance to attend school, be it a scholarship, a textbook, an emergency grant, or food assistance. Donors make a difference in how we impact our students' success.
Target demographics: Individuals of any sort, seeking to gain access to higher, affordable education.
Direct beneficiaries per year: 2,362 students receive support in the form of a scholarship, textbook or other means.
Geographic areas served: Coastal North San Diego County
Programs: textbook assistance, scholarship funding, and direct student aid, in the forms of gift cards, bus passes, and gas cards.
