Low vibration, I can sand hours without vibra-pain. Great cutting action on 35-50grit. Quiet too, don't need ear plugs on low setting. I love this orbital. Quieter than Festool. I purchased a vac tube from mcmaster to attach to my hepa vac. Consistent sanding pattern. I use the backer disc to protect the base discit's worth it. I don't use metal screen backing discs anymoreedges frey and scratch your work, even on the name brand discs. Some come with freys showing before use. 2000grit may be ok to use with very light pressure and watching out for edge frey on the disc. White or Gold oxide discs from SuperGrit are fantastic quality especially for the cost. They last the longest and cut quickly and cleanly with little build up. Diablo doesn't compareDiablo is trash product, suckering homeowners. Thank God for true industrial suppliers like SuperGrit still in the game! The sander is awesome but requires some getting used to. I had switched from electric to air powered sanders 10 years ago to avoid further nerve damage from vibration. They were a huge improvement over electric sanders, but required a 7 HP compressor to run them and two hoses if you wanted to use vacuum. This thing is almost silent, smooth as silk, dustless if you want it to be, and as strong as my air sanders. It also has a narrower grip which is easier on 70 year old hands.

Splurged on this sander to replace an old Milwaukee sander that just wore out the brake constantly and left swirl marks from the lower grits, no matter how delicate my touch. This sander delivers. Performance is fantastic, the vibrations in your hand are minimal and the finish is fantastic, especially when used with the Abranet discs. The dust collection is superb. Excellent, and expensive, sander.

Fantastic palm sander! Expensive but worth every cent. Dust is reduced to practically nothing. Best to use with the Abranet sanding discs. No arm fatigue. Very quiet. Brushless too! It's a gem of a tool.

I love the Deros. My complaint here is that I have a 650 and I thought I was getting another 650. This lists as the 550, then when you switch to 634; it's the 625. It's my own fault for not being more thorough, but if you're switching between the 534; 634; models, they should both be the same oscillation. The 2.5mm works well and I can still put it to work, but it's less useful than I would like and at $600, it's an expensive mistake.

This sander was the first big investment sander I made as a hobby woodworker. I had high expectations, especially given the price, and it had some benefits. It's very light and versatile and is a great random orbit sander. It falls short on heavy sanding, where you need to take a lot of wood off. It did attempt it, but just wasn't more than a really good random orbit sander. I kept it for a few weeks and had to send it back. I replaced it with a Festool Rotex 125 for the same price and am very happy with the Festool.
