As a pre-diabetic, I'm always looking for ways to reduce the amount of refined white sugar, so I was surprised to find that this was made with coconut sugar (which is better on the glycemic index than white sugar). I had never eaten carob before, but I thought I'd give it a try. It was good. It didn't affect my blood sugar as much as my usual chocolate indulgences, but the problem became that I couldn't afford to buy this product regularly enough to replace my chocolate cravings. It was way too pricey.
