Mission: To raise awareness and funds to translate low-income and C. w. H. I. P. participants frustrations and experiences into productive pathways using emotional intelligence, alternative workforce development skills, vocational education opportunities and job placement. We have a primary, but not limited, focus in Maryland and the TNI areas within Prince George’s County.

Target demographics: Low-income and returning citizens

Direct beneficiaries per year: Sixty-two (62) of our participants successfully completed our program, 45 obtained jobs in their field of study, and 40 have retained these jobs without incident for 90 days or more.

Programs: The Mistaken Identity Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)3, corporation that raises awareness and funds to help reshape the mindset of low-income citizens and children who have incarcerated parents (C. w. H. I. P. ) through our free and low-cost programs and services. We offer workforce training and employment for our low-income participants. We realize this through the following:Our "Community Tree of Life " program is free outreach training provided at our facility and the Seat Pleasant Comunity Center. In 2019 we will be expanding to Kentland/Palmer Park, Woodland/West Lanham Hills, and Langley Park. Current training being offered are:* Using Life Experiences to Build Your Best Resume - (4-hour Workshop) * Legitimizing Your Hustle -Turn your hobby into a job then your job into a business (3-day workshop)Our "C. w. H. I. P. Program (Children who have incarcerated parents) " is a support group that provides familiar surrounding with children who understand what the other is dealing with. We realize this through the following:* Dedicated C. w. H. I. P. Boy and Girl Scout Troops - Approval pending)* Through our M. I. Awakening Program (“MY” Awakening) we provide schools, organizations and other non-profit agencies the opportunity to offer their participants emotional intelligence, social awareness skills as well as self-paced online career certifications and diplomas online using a cloud-based platform that is in-step with societies current and more preferred form of eLearning.
