Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals

Mission: The Mobile SPCA is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization whose mission is to provide compassionate care, shelter, food, and medical attention to the animals entrusted to us while promoting adoptions, spay and neuter initiatives, transport, responsible pet ownership and community education.

Target demographics: Cats and dogs

Direct beneficiaries per year: In 2017 we took in 1,304 dogs and puppies and 506 cats and kittens. We found homes locally for 308 dogs and 430 cats. We transported an additional 876 dogs and puppies up north!

Geographic areas served: Mobile, Alabama

Programs: Our programs include transport, rescue, adoption and spay-neuter assistance. We rescue pets from unsafe or inhumane situations, transfer them from local municipal animal shelters or take them from the public. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, vet checked, microchipped, groomed and readied for adoption or transport. Pets are offered for adoption in our office, on our website and at off-site adoption clinics. We also work closely with several national organizations to transport dogs and puppies to communities where there are no puppies and few dogs. We also offer spay-neuter assistance through our $10 off coupon and $20 voucher program.
