Mission: Moments of Hope Outreach is a ministry that walks out Matthew 25:31-46 in an effort to steer our lost neighbors to Christ in what is often their darkest times. We exist to give Hope to our neighbors experiencing homelessness and those living in poverty. We feed the hungry, quench the thirsty, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, comfort the sick, and visit the incarcerated. We do for “the least of these my brothers and sisters”, what society and our community wishes they could or chooses not too, and we humbly request your prayers and support. Moments of Hope Outreach is a ministry that serves Hanover and Henrico counties, and Richmond north of the James River. We began as a one-man outreach in late 2014, and became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in March 2016.“Mo Hope” operates a homeless outreach and food pantry, hosts weekly community outreach luncheons with a mobile pantry and health screenings, and provides non-congregate emergency shelter to our homeless neighbors.

Programs: Homeless Outreach & Camp Visits – We check-in with our friends living outside and provide supplies such as replacement tents, sleeping bags, food, and hygiene items. Emergency Shelter Program - 2023 will be our 7th year operating our non-congregate Emergency Shelter Program and serving as an unofficial safety net to the shelter system serving our region, and to the hundreds of homeless neighbors who are unable to access it after hours or when beds are unavailable, and have nowhere else to turn. We provide brief Emergency Motel Stays for those suddenly experiencing homelessness to allow them to connect with resources and access shelter. For our chronically homeless neighbors we provide Emergency Motel Stays during dangerous weather events, such as severe storms, forecasted overnight temperatures below 40°, or forecasted daytime temperatures above 95°, and two-night Dignity Motel Stays for those who have not bathed in weeks. Mo Hope Pantry – Our food pantry is located at 13400 Hanover Courthouse Rd. and provides enough groceries to prepare six meals to 150-250+ Hanover County neighbors each week. We rely heavily on food drives and funding to make bulk purchases. Saturday Servings – Our Saturday Servings Community Out-reach events offer critical nutrition through quality food items to households experiencing food insecurity. Through our partnership with Feed More, our mobile pantry provides each individual enough groceries to pre-pare six meals. Our guest tallies continue to climb due to COVID, and we currently serve an average of 400 struggling neighbors each Saturday…rain or shine. These events provide prayer and fellowship, a free hot meal, health screenings, clothing, bikes & bike repairs, tents & sleeping bags for those experiencing homelessness, and assistance with Medicaid, SNAP, and replacement photos IDs. For many of our guests, these events provide a rare opportunity to socialize and fellowship, as many are seniors, disabled, and shut-ins. The hot meals we provide are prepared & served by groups from partner churches and businesses.
