Following some other instructions and adding some color of my own for the Packout rolling tool box mod (I was trying to get it into the trunk of my car without laying on it's side): 1) Remove sheet metal screws on back of bottom of Packout box holding in the current handle; 2) Remove handle completely; 3) Drill both the original holes in the metal handle and holes in plastic of tool box with 3/16 bit (this came from another poster and it's a really good fit), trying to drill through both the plastic and the metal at the same time can be a little tricky because you are trying to keep everything lined up so save yourself the trouble and drill them separately - you just want to go through the first layer of metal; 4) Tap the plastic hole with a 1/4 x20 tap (or alternatively use a 1/4 x 20 bolt and a ratchet but go slow since you don't have the benefit of the taper on the tap); 5) Screw in the part, you won't get it that far in because you lose a bit of purchase on it and it just starts to spin; 6) remove the ring temporarily; 7) find a 1/4 shallow wall nut driver and tighten more (I tightened mine until just a bit of the ring hole was inside the box and had to sand a bit of the outside of my nut driver to get it in); I've read a few people say the part wasn't long enough and I think it's probably just not in far enough); 8) put back on the ring; 9) slide in handle and voila. Took my sub 10 mins. I haven't punished this thing much but so far feels very solid.

Used this product for the Milwaukee packout handle modification and these work outstanding. Just make sure you use a 1/4-20 Tap and they screw in with no issues.

First off you have to drill and tap out the holes with 1/4-20. 1st issue. To screw it in past the plastic sleeve is nearly impossible. 2nd issue the pin is to short. I had to drill the hole out with a 5/16 drill bit in order for the pin top extend into the handle shaft hole. 3rd issue. Because I needed thre hole deeper the ring on the pin doesnt lay flat and only stick erected. Some said this was the ones for the milwaukee rolling box and provided pictures. Perhaps some how I did it wrong. Looking back I don't see how that was possible. My experience and my opinion

These work great for the packout handle modification.

Bought these to use for the Milwaukee PackOut handle removal modification. But the threaded portion is too short to reach as far as is needed to secure the handle. Not sure how other reviewers are able to make it work. A 0.5 thread length is what is required. There is nothing obviously wrong with the spring pin itself. It just won't work for this purpose.
