We regularly have the power go out for 2-3 days at a time because of failing electric lines and rotting electric poles. I am single. I have been building up a chest full of these. They are easy to prepare by opening the pouch and removing the oxygen absorber and adding water which does not have to be hot. My friend and neighbor has 2 pickup trucks with 110 outlets and one of those hot water machines so I can heat up the water to add to the pouches.

I've been stocking up on these for the zombie apocalypse. and of there isn't ever a zombie apocalypse then I'll just leave them to my grandchildren because they still won't be expired. it's a win win! great quality by the way. these guys are legit.

My whole family loves these meals. The Eggs are a little spongy, but not bad at all. We LOVE the Beef Stroganoff, Spaghetti and Meat Sauce, and the Chicken Enchilada.These meals are also fairly healthy with a much lower sodium content than any other dry meals.We used these on a 30 Day Road Trip across the country while on the road and on our many hiking adventures thru National forests and canyons.

Not a bad product. I.prefer the granola over the eggs for breakfast. I'd not eat if I only had eggs as an option. Other than that, the other flavors are great. Perfect for backpacking.

Most meals were quite good. The scrambled eggs left some to be desired, but I've not tried any other competing products to know if that's expected. They ended up having some chunks that were completely powder in the middle. Apart from that, I was pleasantly surprised.

You don't need to just buy them in case of emergences, buy them because you can run off, and camp. Sometimes you need to just hide from everybody.

FYI 30 servings is 15 pouches. Other than that being slightly misleading, the Mountain House meals are 5 star in taste, calories, and just add hot water.

I've been eating Mountain House freeze dried foods for over 20 years. They've always been my “go to” backpack/camp food. You may think they're a bit expensive but they're worth every penny because they taste great! Gone are the days where freeze dried meals at the end of a long day we're really about just getting calories into your body rather than actually enjoying the meal. I'd rather eat these than a microwaved Lean Cuisine or Stouffers. When on the trail, I now actually look forward to lunch or dinner.

We used 3 cases to feed 5 people during a 3 night, 4 day backpacking trip. The meals were absolutely delicious! Nothing like a hot meal after hiking 9 miles a day. The expedition meals were awesome with the more compact bag making it easier to eat out of them with our sporks. I also like the new bucket combination with breakfast along with other meals which makes shopping for our backpacking trips much easier. We would normally split 3-4 packets for lunch and 3-4 again for dinner, and this easily fed 5 very hungry people.

The breakfast stuff could be better. You can just put the water in the bag and eat while you walk if you have to. All self contained just add water.

Long shelf life; no mess with just pouring hot water into the pouch so it's easy to knock out a meal without a clean up. Tastes aren't that great, but these meals are surprisingly filling. It's what I recommend in my Survival Guide for emergency food.
