I got a Mr Heater about a month ago.. you have to get the Mr heater hose otherwise other hoses will gum it up and make it not light.. it doesn't gum up with the 1 lb green propane bottles because I found out .. I put it on a 20 lb propane tank and it wouldn't stay lit sometimes.. if it gums up I found out that you can put a 1 lb green propane bottle in instead of and it will burn it off after about a half hour and then it's usually okay but it's still comes up sometimes.. I noticed that it burns cleaner with the 1 lb bottles because they are considered cleaner propane but when you hook it up to a 20 lb propane tank, which I learned is called Dirty fuel, it comes up and the fumes get bad at times.. my throat got hoarse for days and I hope it clears up.... then I find out they recommend a fuel filter so I get one of those online.. it arrives with very little instructions as so many products do these days and I find out that the fuel filter contains lead and Lead contaminants well gee isn't that helpful?? They're going to kill us with their toxic crap one way or another..So I put on the fuel filter and I noticed at the bottom there's a needle type thing that you would put into the 20 lb propane tank hose but that little needle thing has a clear plastic covering on it that does not look like there is a little hole at the bottom of it so that the propane gas can get through into your 20 lb propane tank hose so I don't know whether I take it off or not and of course they're closed in customer service department..... so be aware of all these things folks... if I could find a good clean heater with electric lighter that would go into a 20 lb propane tank I would ditch this Mr Heater in a heartbeat and get the good one... I definitely would not use Mr Heater in a small space my voice is still hoarse..If I can get this fuel filter to work and my voice clears up I may keep it but I'm still looking for a good clean good quality medium size heater
