Unlike some reviews, I did not have an overwhelming gas odor. The heater seems to be burning the propane efficiently. Maybe they didn't have the connections threaded and seated correctly?BTW, my unit has a blower. It works flawlessly. Great emergency heater.

This Big Buddy propane heater included the fan that isn't included with most others. The fan has been deleted on most of the Mr. Heaters due to tariffs. I was happy to find an aftermarket fan assembly will not be needed!

This heater works great. Puts out a lot of heat. However it is costly to use. It only runs two hours on high with the two 1lb propane tanks.

My unit was manufactured Aug 2021, and I have the fan. I think the issue that some people are finding out is that some retailers are buying 1 of the 2 versions of this unit. Some retailers are selling this unit with a fan, and some without. It fairly impossible to tell which is which, since they have the same model number. The Tough Buddy brand is sold at Lowes, exclusively which is where I purchased mine, and it has the fan. (Lowes Item 131258 Model MH18B). My decision to purchase at a traditional retailer was 100 to do with the price and the fact that they could guarantee the fan was in the unit. My recommendation is to have the seller verify, in writing that they are selling a recently manufactured unit with a fan.Also, I suggest getting rechargeable batteries for the fan, like I did; Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) with a USB based charger, as they NiMH batteries will operate in lower temperatures.Overall, this is an amazing, indoor safe heater. The description of this unit states it has a built in fan that is battery or transformer powered. Big Buddy apparently has dropped the fan feature. Our old Big Buddy has a fan and works great. Returned heater. The fan was an excellent feature.

The battery compartment for the fan has no electrodes! I should have examined this heater more than I did upon receipt, because it's too late to return it.

Powerful heater and has been running on 2 burners in my garage for 8 hours, still propane in my std sized bbq tank.Very happy.

I had the Mr Heater Portable Buddy first. Convinced me of their greatness. Bought this for heat backup for the main room of the house. Came fine and happy to have a 2nd!

It should be noted that if you want to use a 20 propane tank, you would need to purchase the correct hose attachment with a regulator. Once attached, all heat options work from low to high, unlike if you use two 1 tanks, which the second tank makes the hi setting work.In addition, there appears to be variations concerning an internal fan. Some versions (mine) does not. Had to purchase it seperately.

Use in an outfitters tent in Michigan, polar vortex and all. Heats a 10x12 tent up so much we have to have it on low.
