Causes: Education, Vocational & Technical Schools

Mission: MBW's primary purpose is to provide mentoring, counseling, education, on the job-training, and job placement for youth, ages 16 to 24, who have dropped out of school, are marginally literate and who live in poverty or are homeless. Some of these youth may have been involved in gang related activities. In addition, MBW provides paid job-training through specific industries that are proven economical outlets in the virgin islands such as construction, carpentry, electric, plumbing, CAD/CAM programming, heavy equipment, marine rebuild and repair, culinary arts and customer service.

Target demographics: At risk youth.

Direct beneficiaries per year: Over 100 trainees.

Geographic areas served: The US Virgin Islands

Programs: Activities including mentoring, counseling, educating, job-training and job placement opportunities to the individuals as they graduate from the program and have been deemed transformed emotionally, socially and skillfully.
