Causes: Mental Health

Mission: Our mission is to address the unmet needs of individuals with serious mental illness and their family members through education, advocacy, support and referral.

Results: We provide all of our educational programming free of charge with seven staff members and 16 board members. Since its founding, NAMI Seattle has grown to educate 1100 young people each year about mental illness, present to over 20 businesses, agencies, and nonprofits, and provide support for over 800 attendees in our free support groups. We estimate that we have reached over 25,000 Seattleites since our founding in 1978.

Target demographics: Our target demographic is those whose lives are impacted by serious and persistent mental illness, including consumers, family members, loved ones and caregivers.
