Programs: Advocacy and organizing: naral pro-choice america foundation works at the national and state level to effectively use grassroots power, communication strategies, and our policy prowess to push government to protect and advance reproductive freedom and abortion access. With 1.4 million member-activists in all 50 states, naral has a network of mobilized, organized supporters ready to take action. In fy17, we: -launched organizing fellows, a paid, 12-week program that trains young activists in how to talk about reproductive rights and mobilize their neighbors and friends to action. -sponsored the historic womens march on washington, and brought in activists from wisconsin, ohio, connecticut, new hampshire, and all across the country to take to the streets in support of reproductive rights and our broader, shared progressive values. -developed a range of tools to help members and the public quickly take action, including: mobile action text message alerts; member-to-member organizing and online fax tools; action toolkits and a redesigned, mobile-responsive website. -invested deeply in state-level organizing, tapping into the 7 in 10 who support legal access to abortion in key states where we can have an impact. Our members mobilized and organized to expand birth control access in nevada; roll back funding bans that prohibited low-income women from accessing abortion in illinois; and expand reproductive health non-discrimination in st. Louis.

communications: our communications team has increased capacity and experimented with new platforms to learn what works and what people respond to, and where we can take that. Weve reached millions of people through our own facebook live broadcasts, while expanding to new audiences through partnerships with established mediums like pod save america, snapchat, and call your girlfriend. Overall, we grew our social media audience by 13% on all platforms and our email audience by 22%. Using these tools allows us to expand our reach, push out events and programming to our audience, and engage people in this fight no matter where they live.

policy: our policy team operates at both the national and state level including working closely with our affiliates to track policies that expand access, as well as anti-choice restrictions on reproductive healthcare throughout the u. S. Our policy team tracks several hundred bills each year and advises our national team and state affiliates through regular consults. We also successfully produced our 27th annual edition of who decides? The status of reproductive rights in the united states, which provides a comprehensive look at the status of womens reproductive freedom across the u. S. And is a definitive educational resource on how the current climate affects womens ability to access reproductive healthcare.
