Mission: Prevention/intervention of maltreatment of children

Programs: Southern regional children's advocacy center - provided training and information to 11,586 child abuse professionals through customized on-site trainings, conference presentations or exhibits, chapter meetings or events, educational calls and core trainings. Also, provided one on one technical assitance to 773 child abuse professionals through face to face contact, telephone or e-mail.

ojjdp-training grant - in 2016, through the ojjdp grant, the training department provided in-person training and live, online trainings to 679 people from 39 states, dc, & canada; provided 196 scholarships to attend the 33rd international symposium on child abuse to people from 29 states, dc, and puerto rico; and provided archived online trainings to 14,437 people from all 50 states, dc, and 35 foreign countries. The child abuse library online had 15,027 unique visits and a total of 27,222 visit

the 33rd international symposium on child abuse (symposium), took place at the von braun center, in huntsville, al, from march 27-30,2017.This successful, informative, and innovative multidisciplinary conference featured more than 165 workshops, over 138 presenters, and trained 1,361 professionals from 49 states, dc, and 9 countries.
