Programs: The National Guard Association of Oklahoma (NGAOK) Scholarship Foundation is a 501c (3). The Foundation’s purpose is to provide scholarships to members of the NGAOK members and their families in support their higher education goals. Scholarships are available on an annual basis for current members of the NGAOK for undergraduate and post-graduate studies and are awarded based on grades, community and school involvement, and leadership potential. Scholarships awarded to members of the Oklahoma Army and Air National Guard supplement the state tuition waiver and can be used to pay the cost of additional college fees such as books, lab fees and other expenses. Family member scholarships are used as necessary to fund higher education related expenses. The objective of the NGAOK Scholarship Foundation is to fund a minimum of 20 scholarships annually. The number of scholarships awarded is based on the amount of money raised each year through charitable donations and fundraising events. The Foundation Board of Directors is staffed through volunteers and has zero overhead costs. As a result, 100% of funds raised go towards scholarships for members and their families. In the past five years, the Foundation has awarded $100,000 worth of scholarships.
