Something so simple yet functional. I had a makeshift plastic drip cap that was falling apart so after painting my exterior door I felt a more substantial replacement would be ideal. This can be purchased cheaper at any local hardware store but the fuel/time to get it allowed me to justify paying the premium. What I didnt expect was that it arrived in a 5 box. Cutting it to size was easy with a hacksaw and sandpaper the sharp edges. Screws are provided and install was easy.

Well made of sturdy aluminum. Requires cutting to fit most doors. A Dremel with a Cut-off wheel for metal works nicely.Applying calk to the back when mounting ensures a watertight seal. My preference is DAP Dynaflex, as it's more durable than other forms of calk, including 100 silicone. After years of trying this kind or that, Dynaflex is now the only kind of calk I ever buy period. Also, when using any sort of sealant/calk/etc, ensure the surfaces are very clean. Isopropyl alcohol is preferred, as it cleans well and leaves no residue, unlike many common household cleaners. When mounting, ensure there is clearance wherever the door will swing. You might want to use a couple small strips of duck tape to hold it in place until it's permanently attached. There was a big thunderstorm here today. Not a single drop made it inside the front door. YAY!!!

These are very nice and sturdy. I used them on my shed to help keep water out. I would definitely purchase these again if needed.

I used this on our crawl space door, and it is perfect. I did use a hacksaw to cut it, and I managed that fine. It is nice and sturdy and easy to install.

Our patio door, which swings in, was the cause of water seeping into the basement when it rained hard. Water would flow down the door, then onto the threshold which does not have any way of draining except for down and into the basement. This drip cap seems to have fixed the issue. We only needed a small lip to get any water runoff to drip on the outside of the threshold where it could fall outside the house. This extends just far enough out to take care of this. Out of the box, it's a bit ugly, but I painted mine white to match the door

This help deflect rain from getting under my door. Its made of aluminum so it was easy to cut to the exact size I need. All you need is a small leveler to make sure its straight. The holes are a bit bigger than the screws so you have some tolerance during install. Just make sure kts straight so water does not run to one side instead of deflecting all away from the door.

When it rains sideways, rain would come through the cracks of our French doors. I added a bit a caulk when I installed them and have not had water deep through.

I was surprised how relatively sturdy this is. Installation went fine--i made my measurements and then trimmed it to length with a hacksaw. So far it's helping keep leakage from happening during big storms and is pretty solid. Overall a good buy as is similarly priced in brick and mortars.

While these are designed for doors, I used them above older mobile home windows that tend to get direct rain. I installed them just before hurricane Ian with butyl tape/caulk and self-tapping roofing screws. Had them up in less than 5 minutes. My only complaint is limited to ordering 3 at a time. I want these on all my mobile home windows. Three more arrived today so I can finish the rest of my windows. Sorry I am not on my property so I can't include photo.

The side door on our garage was allowing water to come in when there was a hard rain. The water would get trapped on the door frame and slowly come in even though it was pretty well sealed (no seal is 100 perfect). I installed this low on the outside of the door and now the rain doesn't get to the jamb at all and no more rain gets into the garage through this door. It was a very cheap and quick fix and it actually blends in with the jamb so when the door is closed, you don't even notice it's installed.

Just what I needed to cover a 3/4 inch gap at the bottom left of this used door. My wife bought the door from an antique dealer and had it installed on the shed attachment we converted into her artist studio. The door was severely warped and not installed well. I had to reposition the door frame and lock, put in new weather striping at the door bottom, caulked the window panes and sealed the paint with polyurethane coat, but still had water coming in when it rained. I added weather striping around the sides and top to the exterior, and this aluminum drip cap. Because of the large gap, I had to put a 1x2 inch cedar trim board behind the drip cap to bring it out far enough away from the inside edge of the threshold so that water coming off the drip cap would drip down onto the threshold and away from the door's bottom edge. Now we have a dry floor in the studio after it rains!
