Mission: Nepal Youth Foundation (NYF) is a U. S. based nonprofit that works to provide children in Nepal with what should be every child's birthright: education, health, shelter and freedom.

Results: For over 30 years, NYF has been hard at work supporting Nepal’s journey by educating, healing, sheltering, and freeing its children. Lasting, sustainable change comes slowly. The work is multifaceted, complex, and deep-rooted. Each transformation is an inspiration. With holistic programs developed, led, and implemented by Nepalese citizens on the ground in the communities we serve, NYF focuses on providing children with the core gifts of Education, Health, Shelter, and Freedom. These entwined values support the strong, healthy childhood development that forms the framework of independent and joyful adulthood. The kids we serve have vivid, beautiful, worthy dreams. We’re helping them make their world even better.

Direct beneficiaries per year: In fiscal year 2020-21, we reached over 14,000 people, mostly children and youth.

Geographic areas served: Nepal

Programs: Education Support - NYF offers scholarships to support children and youth in grades K-12, college, medical school, and graduate school, prioritizing those experiencing systemic oppression, financial hardship, and other challenges. We also offer Scholarships for Students with Disabilities and, through our Vocational Education & Career Counseling program, technical education scholarships. Malnutrition Prevention and Treatment - NYF's Nutritional Rehabilitation Homes (NRHs) are special clinics designed to address pediatric malnutrition throughout Nepal. New Life Center - We provide life-prolonging treatment to youth with HIV/AIDS, while teaching their caretakers about hygiene and nutrition. NYF also partners with local HIV/AIDS organizations and community groups for advocacy and awareness campaigns. Ankur Counseling Center - NYF's Ankur Counseling Center is one of the first psychological service clinics in Nepal specifically for children and adolescents. Children's Homes - We provide nurturing home environments for children whose parents are unable to care for them. NYF commits to ensure that each child receives the holistic family-style care they need to grow into their dreams and realize their great individual potential.
