Mission: The New Jersey Parents' Caucus is a nonprofit organization that is governed and staffed by parents and caregivers of children who have serious emotional and behavioral challenges. The organization was formed in 1990 when a group of concerned parents who were raising children with serious emotional disturbance (SED) came together to create changes to the public systems that served their families. In 2000, these parents incorporated a nonprofit organization with the mission to ensure that every family who has children with special emotional and behavioral needs is given an opportunity to play a strong and active role in the development and delivery of effective and timely services for their children.
