Mission: Newtown Action Alliance Foundation (501c3) is an all-volunteer grassroots organization founded by heartbroken Newtown residents in the weeks after the senseless and tragic shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut on December 14,2012.Led by the same volunteer advocates who lead the Newtown Action Alliance (501c4), NAAF provides comfort, education, scholarship, support and resources to people and communities impacted by gun violence in America. Our goal is to help all American communities move forward together to create a positive cultural change towards a more peaceful, less violent future. NAAF supports families and survivors directly impacted by gun violence and works with allies in the GVP movement from urban, suburban and rural communities. NAAF works to change the conversation and change the culture to end gun violence through educational and cultural programs that honor the victims and provide support for the families, survivors and communities impacted.

Results: We work to #HonorWithAction to #EndGunViolence by:-Each year since 2013, Newtown Action Alliance Foundation (NAAF), the charitable arm of the Newtown Action Alliance (NAA), have sponsored the National Vigil for All Victims of Gun Violence on or near the anniversary of the Sandy Hook shooting tragedy. These multidenominational events, held in Washington, D. C. , at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, bring together survivors of gun violence, victims’ family members, concerned citizens, faith leaders, lawmakers, leaders of gun violence prevention organizations, and activists from across the nation. Through generous individual donations and grants, NAAF is able to bring a busload of advocates from the Newtown area in Connecticut, and families of victims and survivors of gun violence from other communities across the nation to Washington, D. C. to participate in the national vigil service and remembrance event. -Working with other gun safety organizations for safer schools, streets, towns, and cities-Building a strong coalition of advocates, families of victims of gun violence, and survivors of gun violence from rural and urban communities impacted by gun violence-Educating fellow Americans on gun violence, a public health issue. -Engaging more Americans to take action to #EndGunViolence-Supporting a youth movement to reduce gun violence
