I really like this. I'm glad I bought it. Easy to use. I learned quickly to push as slow as I can to make sure I'm lined up still before I push it that last little bit. The cutter cut a deep groove in the plastic on the bottom when it came unaligned while pushing through the apple and the blades didn't fall in between the raised areas of the base and instead hit the raised areas. I prefer this to the ones without the base because it actually does cut all the way through.

My daughter had one and I love it. I am processing lots of apples for applesauce. It makes lots of slices that are the perfect size and I don't have to cut them up any smaller. I have cut up so many apples that it is starting to show wear. I just bought it about a month ago. The middle section (plastic) is wearing down. You can send me a replacement?? Anyway I Do Love it and thank you for making such a nice product.

I bought this because my dentist told me I shouldn't bike into apples anymore and I was tired of coring and slicing them with a pairing knife. It does take a bit of force to get it through firmer types of apples and you must be careful to have it aligned right for the final push (I've already nicked the plastic of the central raised part that lifts the core). I find it's easiest to clean it by putting a bit of dish soap on the base, holding the 2 pieces together and then filling the blade area with hot water (and therefore suds) before rinsing. It may also be dishwasher safe but I'm not sure and haven't tried it.16 slices makes even a smallish apple feel like a lot for a snack!

I love this apple slicer! It gives you double the slices so you feel like you're getting more and the base makes it so easy to pop them out! Love it!

I didn't think having smaller slices would make a difference, but it does. Apples are simply better at this size. I don't know why, but they are.

My kids love to eat apples. The use this themselves to cut up and eat the apples, every day. The slices are thinner and they love it. I love apples in my smoothies so I like the thinner shape to freeze and not have to cut them up in chunks. Now that I have this, the regular slicer is not used at all.

This is a fantastic product. I love the height which allows me to slice down and not slam my knuckles on the counter like my old one. The number of slices are perfect for desserts and salads too. I used this to core and slice two apples for my kale salad. I then used a knife to cut them into bit sized chunks. I love the sturdiness of this. I know it will last a lifetime and will hold up under heavy use when making pies or other desserts requiring more apples. The blades are extremely sharp and that is where the cover is necessary when storing.I highly recommend getting this if you need to core and slice apples for snacking, cooking, or salads. You could even peel the apple after slicing if you need too and it would be much faster. I just leave the peel on for the nutrients, but I know some do not like to eat apple peel.

I love the thin slices. However having to have the extra piece under the bottom to cut all the way through is a pain.

My wife and I find the slicer very useful and relatively easy to use. Nice uniform slices and minimal waste. It's kinda the Cadillac of slicers for the kitchen. You won't regret the purchase.

This creates the perfect sized slices for a pie or eating. My only comment is it doesn't always cut cleanly all the way through, and there are still a few small pieces of the edge of the core left. But it is easier and more consistent than cutting and cutting by hand.Update: I discovered it does cuts cleanly all the way through if you use it like the directions say. I get individual slices now, perfect for eating, without any extra work. Those tiny pieces of core must be small enough I don't notice because I've eaten several apples now, perfectly sliced, and haven't had to spit anything out.

I'm not a type to spend money on a slicer when I have knives that can easily do what a slicer does BUT this has changed my tune. I can now easily serve my kids apples as a healthy and delicious snack quickly. I can never get a think enough slice for them so this is perfection. I highly recommend this slicer for anyone with kids. But also, I will not eat an apple that isn't this thinly sliced again!

Saw this review on America's Test Kitchen YouTube and bought it. 16 slice apples is genius I always slice the standard 8 then cut each in half again for my kids nope, this does it all then you set it on its base and it pushes the slices out are you kidding? You don't have to turn it over and push them through with your thumb??? Sold.
