Mission: NFLT, founded in 1999, seeks to preserve the special places which give Northeast Florida a unique quality of life. The pressure of development threatens our quality of life and through land donations and conservation easements, we seek to preserve the scenic and natural values of the land. We work with landowners, public agencies, and other conservation organizations to find ways to preserve the scenic and natural open spaces in our area.

Results: Properties protected include:• Moccasin Slough, 250 acres, Fleming Island/Clay • Pescatello Island, 30 acres, Timucuan Preserve/Duval• River Branch Preserve, 360 acre Conservation Easement, Atlantic Beach/Duval• Gloria Child Goelz Preserve, 41 acres owned, Ponte Vedra Beach/St. Johns• Bogey Creek Landing, 4.67 acres owned, Pumpkin Hill/ Timucuan Preserve/Duval• Cummer Family Home, 2.4 acre Conservation Easement, Mandarin/Duval• Fish Island, 15.5 acre Conservation Easement, Anastasia Island/St. Johns• Basala Chico, 160 acre Conservation Easement with 5,000 foot of frontage on St. Mary’s River, Florida/Georgia border, Hilliard/Nassau

Target demographics: • is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization• spans eleven counties: Baker, Bradford, Clay, Columbia, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns, Union and Volusia counties• partners with landowners, local government and environmental organizations • is a member of the national Land Trust Alliance

Geographic areas served: 7 Counties - Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns Counties

Programs: The NFLT's major programs consist of working with conservation-minded landowners who wish to preserve their lands, either through donation of conservation easements, or through purchase of their easements or land under various private, state and local preservation and conservation programs.
