Mission: The mission of North Texas Performing Arts is to develop the character of youth through quality performing arts education and family entertainment. Our vision is to make our programs desireable and accessible to all.
Results: Founded in 1991 as Plano Children's Theatre, PCT now uses the dba of North Texas Performing Arts. Our theatres include Plano Children's Theatre, Fairview Youth Theatre, Frisco Youth Theatre, NTPA Dallas, NTPA Repertory Theatre, Starcatcher Therapeutic Arts, and NTPA Academy. With our new home at The Shops of Willow Bend, NTPA has become the largest youth arts organization in the United States. Each year, our graduating seniors are awarded significant scholarships for college. In FY 2017, NTPA trained over 6,000 youth from Dallas, Collin, Denton counties, awarded over $150,000 in scholarships, donated over 3,000 complementary tickets to schools and non-profits, and offered more than thirty free arts workshops to North Texas families. Recent Awards include: 2018 Youth Organization of the Year by the Junior League of Collin County, Plano Chamber of Commerce Athena Award to Founder/Executive Director, Sara Akers, Business Council of the Arts Leadership Award to Darrell Rodenbuagh, Governing Board President (2011 - 2018) and now Chief Executive Officer. Previous Awards include Plano Chamber of Commerce Best Community Partner, Best Community Organization by the Junior League of Collin County, Top 25 Business Women in McKinney by McKinney Chamber of Commerce, and Top Ten Women in Collin County by Neiman Marcus - Willow Bend.

Programs: Major Productions featuring the best in Broadway musicals and non musicals, performing arts classes in dance, voice, acting, film, technical theatre, Starcatcher Therapeutic Arts programs for youth and adults with special needs, NTPA Repertory, NTPA Academy (home school alternative), birthday and scout parties, and summer camps.
