Tried one at the yoga studio and I HAD to have one for home! I use it to traction my spine, starting at the sacrum and moving up about an inch at a time to my neck. Divine!<br />Note that there is a longer one, but this one is long enough to fit under my torso--I don't feel like I"m too wide for it. And it's easier to store than the longer one.

This is a long semi-circular piece of black foam pressed so that it is very firm. Pushing, pounding, and lying on it do not distort it. Seems very tough. You could probably use it for a cricket bat! Certainly, lying on it to do various stretches is a piece of cake.

After being diagnosed with an SI joint deformity, I purchased this in conjunction with a stretch out strap because I didn't realize how important it was to stretch. It's very hard, but I prefer deep tissue massage, so it's perfect. I love this foam roller so much; even my family uses it now!

Our local gym has a few of these and after looking at them for a few months, I decided to try "foam rolling" for my tight/stiff back and quads/shoulders. WOW, what a great item. At first you may feel discomfort as your body is pounded back into form like clay, but after awhile, your body will get used to it and you WILL feel much better. Whenever my knees start to hurt/get tight, low quad/hammy rolling adjusts them right back to where they need to be. Whenever my lower and mid back feel out of sorts, a few body rolls on this wondrous item and I am back in action.<br /><br />I like it so much, I ended up buying one for home.

Very firm roller and hurts at first until the tightness and knots get worked out. I'm sure this roller will last a long time.
