This medium density foam roller is perfect for balance exercises and for rolling out crimped muscles. It has done more to improve my chronic shoulder issues than massage, chiropractic, or cortisone injections combined. The softer rollers are admittedly more comfortable against the spine for a bony person, but are not adequately dense for rolling. The high density roller is like pressing your spine against concrete. This one is just right!

I love this roller. I never thought I'd buy something like this, but I tried it at the gym and it's amazing how it opens up my backbone and hips. Feels so great! I tried different ones at the gym, but I really liked this one - not cheap styrofoam, firm with a little softness. I'm a huge fan! Only slight negative - it did have a little toxic smell - but I rinsed it with the hose and left it on the back porch a couple days in the sun and it's fine for me now.

This is my second foam roller...I started out with a cheaper version from a dept store. What a difference! This roller is much firmer but it does what it's supposed to do with no "give" like I was experiencing with my previous roller. I rely heavily on my foam roller to keep me running, biking, hiking, etc without muscle injury and my previous roller just couldn't keep up. Not so with this roller. I love it! If someone wants a firm roller to keep the muscle kinks worked out, this is definitely one that will take care of it.

Foam roller is made out of a high density material that doesn't become deformed after repeated use. I use it 4x a week for the past 2 months and it hasn't shown any wear or tear. Overall highly recommended.

Great Roller, I got the firmest version and it's great. This material is far superior to the styrofoam type.

This roller is very firm. When my IT band is inflamed I can't lie with my full weight on it because it's too painful but I can still use it against the wall. It's also great for my back.

I wish the roll would be just a bit softer. I can see that it will last a long time and it is well constructed. For someone who is heavier or has been using them a long time, it might suit them better.

I have issue with my L4-L5 lumber spine or some folks say herniated disc. This a great roller if you have back problem. I use this roll religiously because I can not go to my physical therapist everyday. For the beginners I would advice to get the half roll for the same size and the graduate to this roll. OPTP roll is actually use by majority of the Physical Therapist and Chiropractors. This is great toll for in house exercise but I would advice to get exercise document by your therapist before you start.

This product has the very toxic smell, so if you have allergies it can trigger them. I got headache...In warm room it was very strong. I tied to returned this product. The company Therapy Connecion at HPMS, is working only on Mon. till Fri. 9-5! Then it took me 3 phone calls to allow me to return the product to them. I had to write e-mail to their supplier that i'm not satisfied with the product! Then, they coudn't find the order and it took couple of phone calls to wait for the warehouse to respond back to the office what is in the package that i send. Then they claimed that its nothing wrong with the product and they will charge me 20% restocking fee, which is about 9 dollars! They will send this product back to someone for sure, so they still get their money, but the policy is restocking fee so read everything before you order otherwise its going to cost you. I ready don't like this company because how they misrepresented the product, and they deal with you like it your fault... Its badly micromanaged company, i will never order from them again. if i could i would give them zero star!

My physical therapist suggested this product for strengtening my back. Upon receiving this order and used it for the first time, I had developed severe pain in the left lower back the next morning. Initially I thought it might be due to kidney stone, but was checked out ok. Either I didn't use it correctly (there was no instruction with the product) or the product was just not right for me. I ended us taking lots of pain medicine for a few weeks and am still feeling the sore spots after almost two months. I have put it away. While it is called foam roller, it has a very hard surface. I would not want to try using it again. It indeed feels like marble on your back as the name implies. Try it before buying it.

I like the finish on this roller better than the ones you typically find at the sporting goods store. This one is also firmer than most others. Do a YouTube search for M.E.L.T exercises, which what got me started using the roller!

Great for use for physical therapy. Firm yet not "styro foamy." It has a soft finish.

Great for stretching! Looking forward to purchasing the stretching and pilate book. The only thing I would recommend is getting the 24 inch one.

I bought this foam roller with the intention of doing supine Pilates exercises on it like I do at the studio. In the studio we use Balanced Body rollers. This roller is extremely soft which actually makes it harder to perfom the core exercises while lying on it. The exercises became even more challenging, almost as if I were trying to balance on a stability ball while doing my hundreds. I have kept it with intention of gradually working up to being able to use it for that purpose. On the other hand if one were to use this as a massage tool, I think it is way too soft to provide any therapeutic benefits. I would recomemend the OPTP AXIS roller for that purpose. That roller kneaded all of the kinks right out of my ITB.

I am a large woman and find the roller is holding up very well; use on floor; great for back, using with book directions.

I guess I didn't really believe it was going to be sooo soft. It really doesn't get the job done like a firmer one.
