Much stiffer than the one I use in rehab. Perhaps with time it will soften slightly. Since it is so much stiffer it is harder to roll on than what I am used to using during physical therapy.

The roller is ok. It's a bit harder than expected. I was hoping that it would be similar to the melt roller.

pro foam roller has been a staple of my exercise routine for years while rehab of neck and back problems and this one works as advertised but does have a little out of round that doesn't detract yet as long as it doesn't get worse

I was disappointed that this roller was too hard, sorry had to send it back. I wish the roller was softer, was anxious for it to work.

The roller is softer than the one that my physical therapist uses, and I like that. It's firm enough to work out your knots, but not so hard that the pain is excruciating. The only problem is that mine is out of round, which I didn't discover within the return period as I was mostly lying on it lengthwise initially.

My physical therapist suggested this product for strengtening my back. Upon receiving this order and used it for the first time, I had developed severe pain in the left lower back the next morning. Initially I thought it might be due to kidney stone, but was checked out ok. Either I didn't use it correctly (there was no instruction with the product) or the product was just not right for me. I ended us taking lots of pain medicine for a few weeks and am still feeling the sore spots after almost two months. I have put it away. While it is called foam roller, it has a very hard surface. I would not want to try using it again. It indeed feels like marble on your back as the name implies. Try it before buying it.

I bought this foam roller with the intention of doing supine Pilates exercises on it like I do at the studio. In the studio we use Balanced Body rollers. This roller is extremely soft which actually makes it harder to perfom the core exercises while lying on it. The exercises became even more challenging, almost as if I were trying to balance on a stability ball while doing my hundreds. I have kept it with intention of gradually working up to being able to use it for that purpose. On the other hand if one were to use this as a massage tool, I think it is way too soft to provide any therapeutic benefits. I would recomemend the OPTP AXIS roller for that purpose. That roller kneaded all of the kinks right out of my ITB.

I guess I didn't really believe it was going to be sooo soft. It really doesn't get the job done like a firmer one.
