Given its 26 dB rating, I was surprised at how well this canceled noise even in an indoor shooting range. This definitely pales in comparison to something like a Howard Leight by Honeywell Impact Pro, but this actually does better than some of my other over-the-head ear protection that have a higher rating. The added tech features are an amazing plus - The bluetooth sound quality is nothing to write home about but it's good enough for both music and calls. It's definitely on the pricier end, but if you're willing to spend a $100 but don't want an over-the-ear, then spend the extra bucks and get this one!

I've been a range master for over 17 years and this is my first pair of ear buds. I've had numerous pairs of the electronic muffs and love them. You can hear everything that is going on on the range. These seem to work very well, they block out the shots and enhance your hearing ability. Not as much as the muffs do but enough to hear what's going on around you. I wish the cable from the buds to the controls were a little longer so you can see what you are pressing without having to take them off or doing it by feel. The on/off button is very stiff and may be this way by design, I just find it hard to push. I like the bluetooth integration, but you have to have your phone with you on the range and I generally frown upon this with clients/students. My other concern is how well does it protect the smaller bones behind the ears? The traditional muffs go over the entire ear and protect those smaller bones, these do not. I guess only time will tell.

Bought for using on a tractor. Tractor's motor is not loud enough to engage noise cancellation - not what I wanted. Works great when shooting, though.

Husband got these for working on a construction site. He's a carpenter. Mostly work pretty well. The exception being his right ear won't hold onto the insert. The left ear has almost no problem. He's tried all the sizes of inserts that came with the unit, a decent range of options. Just something about his right ear shape that won't hold for long. Otherwise he likes them. The microphones work pretty well and the blue tooth sound, which he doesn't use much, is good. Any suggestions?

Used while hunting in a corn field. Excellent hearing protection and noise suppression. Mic activation was great, suppression was immediate. Would recommend for this purpose.

I like these headphones. The earbuds that came on the headphones were a little big for my ears but it was sent with a pretty good selection of earbud pieces for a more customized fit. The level of noise cancellation can be adjusted and even can amplify someone talking to you which was unexpected.(happily surprised) i have used these at work in a hospital setting which has been nice to cut down background noise when working but still being able to hear alarms and discussions that are important. Excited to take these hunting and seeing what they can do in place of the big earmuffs!

Overall, these are great. My husband and I were able to have conversations at the range while tons of huge shots were going off around us. You still hear gunshots loud and clear with these, but the traumatic aspect of it is mostly neutralized, if that makes any sense. However, they were inadequate when I shot a short-barreled 12 gauge shotgun. I left with my right ear ringing and muffled. I should have used earmuffs on top of them for that. In all, they are great, but they do have some limitations.

Updated Used these again on a long range day. Battery lasted all day and I was glad to have them so I could wear a boonie hat in the hot sun. Only complaint was when a phone call was received my iphone would not default the audio to the headset, even though it was paired. I believe the below mentioned crackling with the Tactical Sound is from the headset not having a foam windscreen over the mic like other over the ear devices have. The crackling sound from the breeze was minimized by turning the Tactical Sound down to a lower setting.-These worked great on the range, even having enough noise cancellation for a 12GA. Was able to easily carry on conversations. Perfect for a wide brimmed hat where muff style ear protection wouldn't work. For other applications not so much. With constant noise from an ATV or chain saw the noise cancellation was jumpy and weird. Also wind noise when riding the ATV gave a weird crackling sound. With the Tactical Sound control turned all the way down this solved the crackling and jumpiness. Bluetooth works well for music.

Recently purchased and took them to the range. The individual on the left was firing AR-15, myself AR-15-suppressed, and on my right 30-06 and 22LR. This was an outdoor covered range with slats to limit elevation on the front. The ear buds worked great. They suppressed the report from all the rifles firing. The 30-06 is loud and I could feel it being shot next to me but noise was not an issue. It was a little breezy today and got some crackling while walking out and checking targets. Guess what my $2.0K bluetooth hearing aids do the same too when breezy. Comfortable to wear and had no issues with carrying on a normal conversation. Would recommend purchasing.

I love the size and convenience of the tactical earpiece. They seem to work well with noise cancellation and easy buttons to adjust. Very comfortable and not as bulky and heavy as the headset. The sound quality is very good for the Bluetooth addition and I can now rest my cheek on the gun to use my sights and scope again.

I tried to support the business, but I'm forced to go to one of the larger brands instead. The advance are terribly uncomfortable and cause pain, as well they have a lot of static. The company did send me a couple extra tips to no avail. I ordered aftermarket foam tips which makes them bearable for short sessions, but I still find myself going to my walker muffs instead. Besides the discomfort they cause, the advance also have nearly constant crackling and popping. The static is very distracting and rather annoying. If there is even a slight breeze, forget about it. I wanted to like these and support a business just trying to break into the shooting market, but unfortunately I'll be taking my business elsewhere and can't recommend these to anybody as a weekly clays shooter who frequents different shooting clubs.

Took a bit to get the fit right, but once I did these sealed out virtually all noise till you turn them on and activate the pass through. I really like being able to dial in or out the amount of outside noise. Loud noises are immediately muted, like gun shots which is primarily why I purchased these. But the sound quality is decent enough for them to be used for music or podcasts ina pinch (when not at the range) so it makes these a lot more useful than previous range safety gear.

I bought these for my husband. Good quality and sound but the ear buds hurt his ears after long wear.

don't expect to use these in ANY sort of wind. they clip and Crack like hell the sound attenuation blows and they do not cancel all frequency when there on, i nearly deafend my self thinking that I could use an angle grinder with them on. the bluetooth is ok there not that comfortable for extended wearing and they have the whole water fall effect when there turned up. the one thing I do love about them though is they can be connected to more than one device simultaneously. two way radio and phone yes, yes and yes.

If you are going to use these for shooting, you still should wear earmuffs if you are shooting 308 or larger.

none of the foam inserts stay in my ears. they fall out. also when shouldering my rifle the buttstock hits the wire that connects to the ear bud and pulls it out. Looping the wire around my ear does not help. I have to constantly stop and replace the right bud as it falls out as soon as get my cheek weld.
