It's actually closer to six years I've had this operating in my carving shop. It operates as it should, every day. Filters are a tight fit and I seal them with masking tape to close any gaps. The Velcro has been glued on a few times. I'm really very happy and recommend this to anyone who power carves. I mostly work in bone and antler, and combine this with a high quality filter face mask. Great piece of kit.

I would have given this a 5 star rating if I could find a replacement filter DC1700F or the optional: DC1 700FW Electrostatic washable filter. I have checked online as well as the big box hardware stores.After 1 month of almost daily use, I am very satisfied with how the Oasis dust collector collects dust from my power carving. It is a great addition to my small work area - a partitioned of section of a guest bedroom. With it small foot print, it easily fits on my small carving desk and does a great job pulling the finer wood particles into the filter. Heavier particles are pulled towards the filter and drop before reaching it, preventing the wood dust from scattering everywhere, significantly - in other words there is almost nothing to clean up outside of the plexiglass enclosure. The Oasis dust collector draws a lot of air and is a bit on the noisy side (about 80 decibels) so I wear ear protection most of the time.

I received it last Saturday. I turned it on and the air flow(suction) is very strong. It can suck in most of the dust near by.

Didn't realize there were 2 electric outlets on the side. Very handy. Noise was as expected. It's heavy, but portable. Very happy with purchase.
