Its a lot bigger than I thought it would be. It works fine and seems to be decent quality, but the black plastic part is almost too big. I thought it would take up less room. One nice things about it, is that it has a belt clip, so in addition to the caribiner clip, you can attach it to your belt easily.

...and they just keep breaking by the string, which is too flimsy :-( The problem is that there's really not a feasible alternative, since other key reels with stronger strings (ex. Kevlar) are just too big and, therefore, undiscreet. I use this in my back pants pocket, and it's barely noticeable, yet highly comfortable for me to retrieve my keys at any moment, as I always carry a bunch of them.

I had used this reel happily for less than 3 months, and then one day the cord broke off completely as I was walking around. Since I didn't hear my keys fall, I was then locked out of my office for days until a good samaritan found and returned them. I had 1 ID card and 3 keys on it - not what I would consider a very demanding load. I guess you get what you pay for, but having my keys is too important to risk losing them at any moment.

I use this every day. It holds two badges in plastic badge holders just fine. Still retracts strong. I would recommend buying this.

The badge holder cord broke yesterday just after having it 6 months. I use it everyday of the work week. Not happy about this. I am glad that it broke when I had my badge in my hand so I didn't loose it. Drop from 5 stars to 2.

I love this item. I love it so much that when a student broke my first one (long story) I went back and ordered another one right away. I hold 2 work IDs and 2 keys on it.

This is perfect for working in a hospital. Other brands are cheaply made and break after a few uses. This one is very well made and will last a long time.

I bought this for my brother, who works in a hospital. He said this badge holder/reel is very durable and well made. He has used other brands, which are cheaply made and break after a few uses. He asked me to order him more, as gifts for his co-workers.

I work for the State, and am required to have my badge visible at all times. I hate the little shirt pinching style, so I got this! I love it! If my badge gets caught on something, it just detracts and doesn't hurt anything. Great quality and long distance on the cord. Highly recommended!

First shipment did not arrive. After complaint, they resend and received. Good customer service.Using the item, after about 5 pulls, it refuses to retract no matter what I do. Now it is like any non retractable id holder. Useless for what I bought it for.Throwing it away. I suppose you get what you pay for, it was cheap!!Stars given more for service than the product

The black circular part of this holder itself is about an inch. Not a problem that it's about 150% the size I thought it was, but it was just a surprise. One thing I don't like about it is that there's a "bead" between the holder and the end that has the keychain ring attached. The bead is not attached to either end and slides along the cord when it's extended. I also don't like that if you only want to use the keychain ring, there is no way to remove the clear plastic loop without several pairs of pliers and a lot of patience.

This badge holder is better than most provided by employers. I bought this due to my company supplied holder snapping in two within my first week - not acceptable. This has a sturdy and solid weight to it. However, I wouldn't recommend attaching a heavy set of keys as the reel would deploy; a couple keys work fine (I have 4 office keys on mine). I haven't experienced any issues with it so far (2 months of everyday use). The clip and splint stay securely attached throughout the day with no worries.I would recommend this badge holder to those looking for an affordable and durable solution.

Bought this as a gift. Nice and solid, wasnt expecting that at this price so much. The recoil string has a rubber stopper to keep it from slamming into the main body. Perfect for a security badge and office key, loved it. Looks like it will last quite a while. Great little gadget for office hubby.

I use this everyday now and it works like a charm. Would definitely recommend. Use it to hold my I.D badge instead of having it in my wallet and having to take it out every 10 mins. Great buy at a great price.
