With near-constant use, this clip only lasted about 4 & a half months.I loved it for being both a key ring and a key-card holder on a retractable cord with a strong carabiner. But I really wish the cord hadn't broken so soon. While I probably won't purchase this exact thing again, if you're not likely to be using this constantly, it may be ideal for you.

I purchased this badge holder back in October 15, 2012 and used it roughly 5 months of daily usage (swiping in my id card / keeping it clipped to my pants loop). It was treated normally, not excessive use as I only need to show my badge for security and to swipe into the building.I started noticing wear on the string around the rubber stopper about a month ago, and made a mental note to try to 'fix' it myself (cut it after the wear, and re-thread it). Unfortunately I didn't get around to it and yesterday it just 'snapped' and became useless (the string wound itself inside and cannot open the reel without damaging the product beyond repair).I was hoping this was more durable as I've used cheaper items and the string worked just fine. I think the rubber stopper wears on the string incorrectly, removing this rubber stopper would definitely reduce that strange wear right at the end.Don't expect more than about 4-5 months of usage on this without any improvement to the clip end.

The reel worked great for a few months and then the string wore down. My work uses lots of key-card touch doors, so it suffered repeated daily use

The retractable reel ID badge holder is light-weight and not too bulky. The clip easily opens to get on a belt loop, and doesn't open when pulled like some small carabiner clips can do. The string is weak and can't hold more than a few keys. Mine also got worn and then snapped, so I had to chuck the unit.So... great if it is light-weight items you are carrying and if you are not a heavy user, like I am. If you are a heavy user/work in an area where your keys/ID badge can get caught, don't waste your money.

Slim, feels durable. I use it with office attire and the inline design for attaching to the badge and belt loop really reduces my concern that I will catch and/or damage clothes.Update, lasted 9 months and broke.
