Pretty standard chain replacement for my 89 Jeep Wrangler YJ 4.2L manual with NP231 transfer case. This is the narrow chain. They have a wide chain for the NP231, but I believe most stock NP231 are the narrow chain. I had a loud clunk/knock/ratchet noise coming from my driveline under hard load in 4wd and had already replaced my u-joints. After inspecting my chain through my fill port, I could clearly push the chain up to the case. Replacing my old stretched chain was the fix.
