Mission: On My Way Home Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Las Vegas, Nevada. We rescue dogs, cats, small animals, reptiles, and farm animals, although most of the animals that we intake are dogs. We are a foster-based organization at present. In our rescue, we focus upon rehabilitating the animals that we rescue on an individual-basis approach. We espouse a socially conscious rescue philosophy of transparency, commitment to excellence, and focus on the needs of each animal individually. We believe in quality over quantity in order to maximize the potential for each animal in our care. We accept animals from high-kill animal shelters, owner surrenders, neglect situations, and puppy mills. Some of these animals have been abused, neglected, abandoned, forgotten, or simply re-homed due to necessity or convenience. In addition, we help pet owners and other non-profit organizations in need of financial support get necessary and affordable services for animals in need. In our rescue, each animal receives a full medical evaluation, temperament testing, foster care, rehabilitation, training, spay/neuter, microchipping, vaccinations, dental attention if needed, and other medical care as-needed. They are each placed into an appropriate foster home that has been vetted by our team. Because we tailor the rescue process to the unique characteristics of each animal, we have enjoyed a great success rate with our adoptive families, as each animal’s individual needs are identified and addressed prior to their adoption into loving forever homes. Our adoption process itself requires meeting each animal, followed by a cooling off period of at least overnight away from the animal to remove the risk of spontaneity adoptions. A home check is required. While not every adopter is approved for adoption, the focus is always upon what is best for the animal so that they are placed as responsibly as possible.
