Causes: Food, Food Banks & Pantries, Food Programs

Mission: Operation Blessing's primary goal is to alleviate hunger in our community and to demonstrate Christ's love by providing food, clothing, and offering counseling and prayer for the troubled, and giving the Word of God to the hungry soul. Although we are a Christian organization, we serve individuals of all beliefs, in the south and southwest suburbs of Chicago, as well as the far southern portions of the City of Chicago.

Results: Operation Blessing's primary program is our food pantry and food network. We distribute food each month valued at approximately $130,000.We seek to provide the necessary elements of a well-balanced diet. We provide not only non-perishable food items, but also bread, fresh produce, eggs, milk, cheese, and meat. Food is distributed on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9 am until noon and on Wednesdays from noon until 3 pm. We also serve as a distribution center for other food pantries and churches. We turn every dollar donated into $15 worth of food through frugal purchases and in-kind donations that we receive from our food donor network. Your generosity will help us to greatly expand this service.
