Purchased this for my wool caps which have very little structural front stiffness and works ok. It's not as formed as a New Era 59Fifty but enough. This item could be 100% stiffer though. What this doesn't do is reshape your cap - meaning if your cap's shape is warped, this won't fix that.

They fit nicely in the front of my baseball caps and give the cap the shape of a new cap.

Roomy fit, just enough light for doing little things that don't require a lot of light. I use it a lot for fishing, hiking around my dark wooded backyard at night, and checking the oil of my old van.

Great hat, reasonable price, you will wonder how you got along with out one all these years. If you spend any time out side after dark and try and work (on a car, gardening, walking, fishing, etc.) get one, can replace batteries ( would be a superbly great hat if it was rechargeable!) quality build bought a bunch more as giveaways to my favorite people and a spare for myself because I will probably not wear it out but will get it all mucked up from using it for all outdoor after dark activities Will buy again and recommend it if your looking for a quality hat with stealth lighting. Works great when it is dark can be dim to very bright with a click of the brim button

I have a few softer caps that tend to sag in front (particularly after washing). This insert is comfortable, easy to install and most importantly, makes the hat look much nicer. I have installed in 3 cap-type hats and it has improved the look of each. Since it sits behind the sweatband, I don't even feel it. That being said, I do have hair, so not sure if you are bald how it would feel (full disclosure). It's made from a soft, smooth moldable foam (if that helps).
