Quick summary: These are great flexible skewers EXCEPT the skewer end is blunt (rounded) - NOT pointed. They are annoyingly difficult to push through anything hard or uneven texture (where blunt point follows the soft layer). We got the idea for the flexible skewer from our son-in-law who is true BBQ and smoker master. We should have asked him advice on brand, but these appear to be sturdy, relatively easy to clean, and nice and long. The only major downside is, as noted, the blunt ends. I fixed it with a superfine (water cooled) grinder, and now they are awesome (well, after only one use). Having to modify them was a real annoyance. Without a grinder, the rating would probably have been 1-star.

Meat is hard to get on the skewer, the 'pin' is not sharp at all, and with high potential to hurt yourself.
