Mission: PINK Concussions is the FIRST non-profit focusing on women and girls with concussions from sports, domestic violence, accidents or military service. We facilitate online support groups, and information for women, teen girls, their parents/spouses/caregivers, female veterans and medical professionals, which are available and active on a 24 hour/7 day a week basis. We organize international medical summits on Female Brain Injury to train civilian and military medical professionals. We also inspire researchers to expand their brain injury studies to include sex and gender differences.
Results: Over 3,000+ women, teen girls, their parents/spouses/caregivers, female veterans and medical professionals are currently in our support groups. To date, our six summits have provided training for over 1,000 medical professionals. Most of our summits have been free or have had heavily discounted admission for over 500+ younger researchers who are now aware of the need to include sex and gender variables in their studies.
