Programs: The Family Nurturing Center of Louisiana- is a network of evidence based parenting program’s including the Nurturing Parenting Program. Offerings include a structured, 16-week parenting program designed to help parents and children reduce dysfunction and build healthy, positive relationships; as well as shorter, community-based parenting workshops. KIDLINE (1.800.CHILDREN) is a statewide, telephone service offering crisis intervention, support, parenting information and referrals. KIDLINE is also the designated support and information line for Louisiana’s Safe Haven law, which allows a parent to safely give up and unwanted infant. Darkness to Light’s “Stewards of Children” is a child sexual abuse prevention program proven to increase knowledge, improve attitudes and change child-protective behaviors. This program places the burden to keep kids safe on adults and should be taken by any responsible adult who cares about protection of children. Pinwheels for Prevention ® Campaign is a public awareness campaign that motivates individuals to take an active role in prevention in their communities. The pinwheel represents happy, healthy children, and also serves as the new, nationwide symbol for child abuse and neglect prevention.
