(1) hawaii bottomfish oral history project: tracing traditions and fishery development to explore how the culture, traditions, and fishing techniques for hawaii bottomfish fishery have evolved from native hawaiian populations to modern times and (2) ocean synthesis and human dimensions program: socioeconomic characterization of western pacific fisheries to include assistance and support of three integrated projects that will help to characterize the socioeconomics of western pacific fisheries for noaa fisheries pacific islands fisheries science center.
