Designed by Paul Carmody, this 2-way kit is designed for woodworkers who want an easy way to build a rocking speaker. This kit includes parts to build a single speaker: a pre-cut front baffle, drivers, crossover components, and damping material.

The Classix II kit is a 2-way bookshelf speaker that provides a big sound from a small package. With powerful bass response, relaxed midrange, and natural high end this speaker has the ability to make even poor recordings sound great.
With the exceptional low frequency ability of the popular 6-1/2" woofer the Classix II delivers plenty of bass for most small to medium sized rooms. For the upper frequencies this kit uses the 1" silk dome tweeter which is known for natural, non-fatiguing response making this speaker ideal for long listening sessions.
This kit is ideal for anyone capable of simple woodworking. The enclosure is very easy to build, you only need to create a 8.5" W x 15" H x 11" D box and attach the baffle. The solid 3/4" MDF baffle is CNC milled by Denovo Audio to tight tolerances. Recesses for flush mounting the drivers are precut making assembly a snap.
According to Paul Carmody, " I know you'll think I'm kidding, but of all the speaker designs I've done, if I could only keep a handful, these would be near the top of my list…the Classix II have a "euphonic" quality about them. They "gloss over" many of the problematic details of popular music (that an "audiophile" speaker would glare at you with), but at the same time are engineered to be revealing enough that most people would be surprised to hear new things in favorite old recordings."
This kit includes nearly everything you need to build a top-notch speaker in no time flat, including: a precut baffle, drivers, port, damping material, and crossover components.
