It's a bit more expensive, but consider these features:- One-handed operation- flexible nosepiece for better seal- silicone heat-resistant nose piece- length of silicone tubing for nosepiece replacement- detailed tips and instructions inside the packaging.I'm extremely satisfied with this tool. If you're looking for a compact solder removal tool, this one will impress you.

i was a bit skeptical at first but wow this thing is amazing, i was using those cheap plastic tip ones and going from that to this is such a drastic improvement its night and day. if your looking at this do yourself a favor and buy it now!

We bought several of these for all our electronic rework stations because these tools are made in Japan. Upon testing these, we found them to be of excellent quality well worth every dollar invested into this tool. And your purchase supports an economy of a friendly democratic country as an added bonus.The only caveat is that the replacement silicone tubes that come with the tool got lost very quickly as they are separate from the tool. I wish this product had some sort of little on-board storage compartment where the replacement tubes could be stored. Alternatively, don't forget to place the tubes in the place where you will find them a year later.

I used this to successfully replace capacitors on a vintage computer. It worked great--a much cheaper alternative to an expensive de-soldering tool. For occasional work, this is a better solution.

First time using one of these, after de soldering 6 transistors and capacitors I'm very happy with how this worked so far, I like the fact that the tip withstands a iron temperature at 650 degrees and has a strong pull when releasing the pump. Yes the tip gets clogged from time to time but I expected that after reading the reviews eventually I will buy a soldering iron with pump built in but this works fine for now.

I've used several different desoldering pumps before, but this one is by far the best I've used. I followed the directions included in the packaging and cleared out solder around component legs on the first try. The construction is solid and not flimsy but also not excessively heavy.

This works great for my occasional afternoon projects. I used it for desoldering keyboard switches and it did the job great. Just be sure to replace/clean the tip ever so often.
