the only downside (and a small one) is that the actual travel to attenuate to silence and back to full volume seems to be about 1/3 turn. But if you know that, then it's not an issue. No heat build up that I have noticed yet. Very easy to install.

Needed to turn the volume down on one speaker in a PA setup, it was too near a mic and causing some echoing. Easy to install and did the job. I used the box to make a housing....

This is a Pass/Fail review because the attenuator either works or it doesn't. It works well and is well made. I appreciate the enclosed wiring diagram! This product passes the test! I would definitely buy another one or any other product from this company.

Works well and seems to be constructed well. I am using this as an independent volume control on a monitor system for a Firehouse radio. The max power is 18 watts from the radio, which is less than 1/2 of the L-PAD's rating, so I can't say I am pushing it, but it definitely handles that power well. Since this is almost a set it and forget it application I don't see having any problems with the device from wear, and since the radio has a low duty cycle of output audio, only getting relatively short transmissions periodically, I am not worried about heat either. So all in all this seems like the perfect device for me. Hopefully for those who use it more strenuously will have similar experiences with it.
