Causes: AIDS, Health, Hospices, Human Services, Residential Care & Adult Day Programs

Mission: Peabody House was founded in 1995 by a group of concerned citizens, led by Frannie Peabody, a 97 year old AIDS activist whose grandson died of the disease in the '80s. Originally conceived as a hospice, the agency has continued to remain focused on the needs of our residents. As advances in medical treatments have improved the prognosis for people living with HIV, our programs have expanded to include comprehensive discharge planning and aftercare. Peabody House values respect, striving always to maximize human dignity and autonomy.
