Mission: Penobscot community health center (pchc) is a non-profit organization incorporated in 1997 that is governed by a board of community volunteers and is the largest federally qualified health center in maine. Pchc is driven by its mission of "providing access to patient-centered, high-quality, comprehensive, integrated, health care services, regardless of the ability to pay" and demonstrates its dedication to quality care through joint commission accreditation as well as joint commission certification as a primary care medical home. As part of its patient centered medical home model, pchc is proud to provide high quality family medical care to over 60,000 people in the greater bangor region, waldo county and jackman area. Pchc's four largest medical practices in bangor, brewer, and old town, maine are open seven days a week and offer an integrated care model with medical care, mental health, and three of these practices pharmacy and physical therapy under one roof.
